April 4th is National Vitamin C Day!

April 4th is National Vitamin C Day!

On National Vitamin C Day (and every day), it's important to realize how much we need vitamin C. We quite literally can't live without it!

Vitamin C is essential for humans, but unlike most animals, we can’t make it ourselves. We must get it from food – or when deficient, from therapeutic high-dose vitamin C treatments like ASCOR® (Ascorbic Acid Injection).

Vitamin C deficiency is more common than you may know, affecting many at-risk populations. The symptoms can be subtle and often overlooked, resulting from impaired collagen synthesis, oxidative stress and weakened immune function.

Symptoms of vitamin C deficiency may include:

  • Fatigue
  • Irritability
  • Depression or mood swings
  • Loss of appetite
  • Bleeding gums
  • Dry skin

We’re proud to offer doctors ASCOR as a treatment option for their patients.

ASCOR is the original FDA-approved Ascorbic Acid Injection for the treatment of patients with vitamin C deficiency, under the supervision of healthcare providers.

ASCOR was developed by McGuff without any preservatives, GMOs or traceable levels of corn.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak worldwide, the global demand for some Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is exceeding current supply availability.

In addition, the manufacturing of the PPE and many other wound care/infection prevention products have been impacted by the global response to the Coronavirus. While you may see product availability reduction in the near-term, please be assured that we at McGuff Medical are continuing to work diligently to ensure an uninterrupted supply of products and alternative products to you.

Additionally, in order to ensure healthcare providers have access to the PPEs they need, the McGuff Company is temporarily limiting PPEs to healthcare providers.

As always, please feel free to reach out to our McGuff Customer Service team with any questions that you may have.
